I. AM. HUMBLED.

The freezing is out!

Please God take the pain away.

It’s only been three hours. How can that be? Is time going backward? I swear it is. I need help NOW!

Please God take the pain away.

Elevation, elevation, elevation. Ice, ice, ice on the hour. So uncomfortable.

Please God take the pain away.

Nausea. Dizziness. Nausea. I don’t want anymore pills. I NEED my next pill.

Please God take the pain away.

Oh no, I have to go to the bathroom.

Please God take the pain away.

Food? What’s that? Meat. Yuck! An absolute no.

Please God take the pain away.

Water..can’t get enough!!! I’m parched.

Please God take the pain away.

Oh no, I dropped my mouthguard.

Please God take the pain away.

Sleep? Twelve hours in 5 days:-(. I NEED SLEEP!!!!

Please God take the pain away.

I can’t reach the pillow for my foot. Frustration.

Please God take the pain away.

Pyjamas for a week, it is. Not as fun as it sounds.

Please God take the pain away.

My legs and hips are killing me. Why can’t I just lie on my side?

Please God take the pain away.

I cannot sit or try to sleep like this for even one minute longer. I can’t. Don’t make me.

Please God take the pain away.

A shower, how? Can’t get the incision wet. STRESS!

Please God take the pain away.

The kitchen is so far away. Why is it so far away? Never noticed that before.

Please God take the pain away.

Gotta get up? Put the boot on first. ALWAYS!

Please God take the pain away.

TV, reading, writing? Not a chance. Controlling pain is the sole focus.

Please God take the pain away.

The face of my comforting husband right by my side through it all?

Thank God for him in helping me to take my pain away. Together, we made it! Thank God we made it. I am humbled.

Lesson, as always? A renewed appreciation for life and the recovery of good health.

    1. Thanks, Elaine. Slowly recovering here. Pain is subsiding, thankfully. Mobility is still limited, but doing my best with crutches and a knee scooter. Hope that you continue to do well.

    1. Loved the pun! Doing my best to heal on up and get on with things. Slow, but necessary process. Hope you and your kitties are enjoying the last lazy days of summer. Actually, it’s always summer there, isn’t it? I heard we are in for snow by the middle of September, again. It’s been cool and wet here in Canada. Blech! Already looking forward to Hawaii next summer. Pathetic and brilliant all at the same time:-).
